Character Series: Saiyuki, Saiyuki RELOAD Age: 23 (Birthday November 29) Background: As a child, Kouryuu was found near the Yangtze River by a man who he knew as Koumyou Sanzo. Sanzo grew fond of the man who saved him, and even though he would never live for any other person, he chose to have Koumyou Sanzo as his Master. Kouryuu trained under Koumyou Sanzo to become a priest, even though he didn't believe in the Buddhist gods... Since he was his Master's favorite pupil, he still managed to gain himself a title on the Buddhist church. Kouryuu was also friends with a monk trainer named Shuuei, even though he was disliked by all the other monk trainees. One night, Kouryuu was summoned by his Master and was bestowed with the official blessing of the title of Genjou Sanzo and given the Maten Sutra, which is one of five sacred sutra of the Buddhist religion. Later that same night, a gang of powerful youkai came to retrieve the sutra belonging to him and the one belonging to his Master, but neither Koumyou Sanzo or Genjyo Sanzo were strong enough to even blemish the youkai. Koumyou Sanzo shielded his desciple with his life, which traumatised the young Sanzo. Blaming himself for his weakness and letting the youkai get away with the Seiten Sutra, Sanzo left the temple and went in search for his lost possession and vengeance for his lost Master. Along his journey, Sanzo met the Monkey King, Son Goku, on the mountain in which he was inprisoned. Sanzo released Goku and now journeys with him and two other youkai (Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai) on a mission given to them by the Three Aspects. Now, the Sanzo party is traveling westward to India to stop the revival of Gyumaou which will cause negative energy to disperse over the land. *is in a laaaaazy mood, so she doesn't wanna add in everything that happens in the journey unless she has to.. :D? guesses she could totally add in here that in a past life, Sanzo was Bosatsu's (one of the few humans who reached enlightenment, but chose to stay and look over humanity instead of moving on) nephew and went by the name Konzen and that that was when Sanzo really met Goku --- will add more if mods want or need her to, just ask* Personality: Grumpy, yet charismatic... gets annoyed easily, very friendly with his vices (alcohol, tobacco, gambling... killing ^^; ), egotistical, selfish, haughty, usually calm in crisis, hates animals even though he works well with them, has a soft spot for Goku that he hides deep down... Item Lost: His gun... since he wouldn't be a sanzo without the Maten Sutra. ^^; | |||||
